9 July 2008 A hot, sunny day on the coast!

Can you believe it? The temperature thing outside says it's 75 degrees! There is a very nice breeze blowing and these boys took it upon themselves to improvise their own slip-n-slide with a tarp and the hose. Works very efficiently I might add! They also decided they needed to clean out the little kiddie pool they haven't used in a very long time. Hey - whatever works man. Just as long as I don't hear any fighting, punching, kicking, biting or yelling at each other. Because MY boys wouldn't do that to each other. Would they?

Christopher, Michael and Nephi having fun. I will post pictures of cub scouts later tonight. We are having a hot dog roast at the beach. Mmmmmm. Nothing like a burnt hot dog with some ketchup. I like them. Especially with the crunchy black parts. I can hardly wait! If I am really lucky I will have some sand on the side too.

7 July 2008

Hello all. Happy sunny day. Would someone please inform me on making blogs private? I was looking through my recipe blog and some guy from Malaysia made a comment. I deleted it. This was a little disturbing to me. So....for those of you who will run into me - please tell me what to do. Thanks!

Happy Fourth of July!

My Country 'tis of Thee....Sweet Land of Liberty...To Thee I Sing....I love the Fourth of July and what it stands for. I love the fact that Russell is in the military and proudly serves our country so we can enjoy the freedoms we do. I love that I live in the United States of America. It truly is a land of opportunity.
We thought it would be fun to go to the beach today. Well - it was a good thought. Not a very good experience though. It was cold, wet and oh so windy! The ocean was a nice color of grayish/black.

Here we have the clan trying to not get blown away! L-R we have Nephi, Christopher, Donovan, Michael and Russell.
Christopher took this picture of Russell and I. Michael and Nephi are in the background climbing the rocks.

My birthday present...a trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium

Russell asked me what I wanted for my birthday this year. I said I wanted to spend the day at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. So that's where we spent the day. The first four pictures were of different aquariums the boys and I thought were really cool. Michael really like the first one because it has lots of fish like Dory from Finding Nemo.

I like this one because it had lots of seahorses.

I think I will make this picture the new desktop on my computer. I just like looking at it. It's relaxing to me.
The boys hanging out. L-R we have Nephi, Michael, Christopher and Donovan.

Russell and the boys watching the seals and sea lions. We had fun here. The animals seemed to know they were being watched.

This is the biggest one we saw. Most of them liked swimming on their backs.

At the end of Passages of the Deep is this huge gigantic shark mouth. Nephi, Michael and Christopher are in it.

At the touching pool. Nephi and Christopher are touching starfish.

A red octopus. The younger boys thought this was really neat.

Inside Passages of the Deep. There are three separate tunnels. We liked this one the best as sharks and rays are swimming all around. We are sitting here watching them. We have L-R Nephi, me, Michael, Christopher and Donovan. D's face is a bit blurry because the flash wasn't on. If you move the slightest it messes up. Oh well.

A tiger shark swimming by.

Russell went to help Nephi tie his shoes and was informed by said son he could do it himself. Which he is now demonstrating.

At the end of the trip. L-R Russell, Nephi, Donovan, Christopher and Michael. You would think with all the myriads of people there - we could have asked someone to take a family picture. Well - we didn't.

29 June 2008

Today is my birthday. I am 37. Russell made me this cake. He did a very good job! For my birthday we are going to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport tomorrow. That's what I wanted. To spend the day there. It's a very relaxing, neat place.

Chris took a picture of me blowing out the candles. There really weren't 37 candles. There wouldn't be a cake left!

Nephi eating one of those sugary birthday labels.

I just love this picture! The beach...it's the place to be!

I just love this picture! The beach...it's the place to be!
I think this was in 2004. It was Nephi's first trip to the beach. The boys were all so little! My have they grown.

Meet the Parents...Russell and Candace
It all started for us when Russell left for Cape Town South Africa on a mission. Candace felt inspired to write him - so she did! We wrote for 3 1/2 years. Candace came home from her mission to the Texas Houston East Mission and we dated for 5 months. We married in July 1994 and have been happy ever after!
