Our red potatoes are ready! We did the potato barrell follow along in the Gardening Forum on recipezaar.com. It was very insightful and we are pleased with what we grew. Next year we will move to the garden and grow a couple different types.
By the looks of it - our onions are also ready! We will wait a while longer though before harvesting.
Our pear tree is loaded. This one was the only one on the ground. That means it's getting close to picking! Probably Monday I will have long arm Russell go out and help me. :)
This has also been a busy baking day. I did a double batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and a double batch of zucchini bread. Then I did a batch of banana bread. School starts next week and I like to have these already in little bags in the freezer. Then it's just grab and go in the mornings if I forget to make lunches the night before.
Tomorrow I will finish the chicken stock I started today. It has to sit in the fridge overnight so the fat conglomerates at the top and solidifies. I will can chicken stock and some jars with chicken and stock for the days people are sick and need chicken soup.
I love my job.
