2010 Cub Scout Day Camp - Safari Day 2

Today is Tuesday. The boys were ecstatic that they had BB Guns first thing!

Getting safety instructions right off the bat. The boys asked some really great questions about the BB guns and what they needed to know to be safe.
There are 7 "stations" and our pack has 7 boys. This worked out perfectly. Each boy had his own space to shoot for the alloted time. All did well in hitting their targets. I was impressed!

Michael in the prone position getting ready to shoot.

Our next station was working on our skit for Friday night. They wanted to do The Invisible Bench. It was okayed and the boys spent almost an hour perfecting their skit. They had so much fun doing it over and over.
Only to find out they weren't told a vital piece of information and wouldn't be able to do it after all. They truly were disappointed. That disappointment affected their mood the rest of the day.

Lunch. The best station of all. You can't go wrong here.

Getting ready to make mancala games out of egg cartons. Donovan did this exactly 5 years ago! We love playing mancala thanks to a game learned at day camp!

Our next station was making first aid kits in altoid tin boxes. The boys thought this was pretty cool.
Waiting for our next station to start. It was a beautiful day at the beach today. Sister O'Brien was our other adult leader today. She is also one of the cub scout leaders for the boys' pack.

Our last station was making leather pouches for the altoid tin first aid kits. The boys had fun pounding the different designs into their leather. They had some trouble getting the string through to tie but in the end it all worked out and they were happy with what they had made.

I think this was in 2004. It was Nephi's first trip to the beach. The boys were all so little! My have they grown.

Meet the Parents...Russell and Candace
It all started for us when Russell left for Cape Town South Africa on a mission. Candace felt inspired to write him - so she did! We wrote for 3 1/2 years. Candace came home from her mission to the Texas Houston East Mission and we dated for 5 months. We married in July 1994 and have been happy ever after!
