It's New Year's Day!

It's New Year's Day 2009. We spent the past few days out of town. We were flooded in last Sunday. Left town Monday afternoon and came home today to....more flooding.

We are officially home now until the flood waters recede. The weather forecast says we are supposed to get 3-7 inches of rain here in the next day or two. Yikes! That's a lot of water.

So... if you came home to flooding, how did you get home? Or did you just step on the gas and float through?

You have a valid point. The water is over the roadway as you can see. However - it was still low enough we could get through. Russell ran back into town to pay bills, get some milk and Donovan's birthday present. The van cut out three houses down from us. He stepped on the gas and it started back up again. We are not going anywhere. The neighbors have parked their vehicles in our driveway since it's the highest point in the road. As of 10:30 p.m. the water level is all the way around our house and still rising.

Glad you are home safe. Dad was just outside. His shed where the cars are parked is flooded. The entire yard and street is flooded. I guess we are sharing the wealth! Hope you are safe.

Hi Mom! I guess Dad might actually NEED his boat after all! Stay safe.

I think this was in 2004. It was Nephi's first trip to the beach. The boys were all so little! My have they grown.

Meet the Parents...Russell and Candace
It all started for us when Russell left for Cape Town South Africa on a mission. Candace felt inspired to write him - so she did! We wrote for 3 1/2 years. Candace came home from her mission to the Texas Houston East Mission and we dated for 5 months. We married in July 1994 and have been happy ever after!
