Busy as a bee...

I feel like I am the ants in the story of the Ants and the Grasshopper. I got up really early and took the chicken stock out of the fridge I had started yesterday. I did 6 quarts of stock with chicken and 3 quarts and 5 pints of just chicken stock. Today I also did 1 quart and 4 pints of green beans from the garden.
With school starting next week - I like to get a jumpstart on having things ready. Today I made a double batch of french bread - see recipe blog - and sliced it for sandwiches. I like to add some meat and cheese - put the sandwiches in sandwich bags and put in the freezer. This does look like a lot of sandwiches - but in all likely hood would be enough for 3 maybe 4 different lunches. There are 4 lunch takers again this year. Next year there will be 5 lunch takers.
This is the story of my day. It's been a long one. I am tired.

that's 20 sandwiches just for the lunch takers . (that's a good book title: "20 sandwiches just for the lunch takers".) geez and my goodness, that's a lot of sandwiches. but look at it this way: if you hypothetically pay yourself a living wage and calculate all the time and hard good costs associated with those 20 sandwiches, it's a huge savings to make them yourself. you have been so busy this week. i do hope you take some time off this weekend, relax and enjoy some family time. hugs...ellie

I think this was in 2004. It was Nephi's first trip to the beach. The boys were all so little! My have they grown.

Meet the Parents...Russell and Candace
It all started for us when Russell left for Cape Town South Africa on a mission. Candace felt inspired to write him - so she did! We wrote for 3 1/2 years. Candace came home from her mission to the Texas Houston East Mission and we dated for 5 months. We married in July 1994 and have been happy ever after!
